#throwbackthursday Going-to-the-Sun Chalet Complex

Going-to-the-Sun Chalet Complex, ca. 1926. Photograph by T.J. Hileman. At one time, the Going-to-the-Sun Chalets were a busy hub of activity inside Glacier National Park. Because of a lack of funding for major repairs after World War II, the Park Service made the difficult decision to completely demolish all of the buildings at Sun Camp. Even though photos are all that we have left, the architecture and style of these chalets can still be found at the chalets and hotels still remaining and in operation inside of Glacier National Park. #throwbackthursday
