Throwback Thursday - Going-to-the-Sun Chalets

This photograph of the Going-to-the-Sun Chalets, shot July 5, 1933 by George A. Grant (NPS), gives us a good perspective of what the area now known as Sun Point used to look like. This was once a thriving chalet colony inside Glacier National Park, but was torn down and pushed into St. Mary Lake after WWII due to the poor condition and lack of funds to repair them.
